Deckdrain is a high-strength, high-flow geocomposite drainage layer, specifically engineered to provide long-term protection and water management in podium decks, green roofs, bridge decks, and structural waterproofing applications. It offers a reliable and efficient drainage path while protecting waterproofing membranes from damage caused by water pressure, soil movement, and mechanical stress.
Manufactured from a cuspated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) core bonded to non-woven geotextile filters, Deckdrain quickly channels water away from horizontal surfaces, preventing water buildup and ensuring long-lasting structural integrity. The geotextile layer prevents the ingress of fine particles, maintaining high flow rates over time and avoiding clogging. Certain models in the range are UV-stabilised, increasing durability for exposed applications and extended service life.
Widely used by civil engineers, architects, contractors, local authorities, and roof system designers, Deckdrain is ideal for horizontal drainage under intensive green roofs, podium landscaping, blue-green infrastructure, and protected waterproofing membranes in commercial, public sector, and urban regeneration projects.
Applications
Podium decks and landscaped terraces
Green roofs (intensive and semi-intensive)
Bridge abutments and retaining structures
Tunnels, underpasses, and underground structures
Drainage protection for waterproofing systems
Urban infrastructure and local authority developments
Benefits
Provides consistent drainage under load – even at low gradients
Protects membranes from mechanical damage
High puncture resistance and structural integrity
Easy to cut, handle, and install on site
Available in a range of thicknesses and flow rates for tailored performance
UV-stabilised variants for long-term durability
Reduces hydrostatic pressure, improving roof longevity
Maintains flow capacity even under high compressive loads
Deckdrain is supplied in rolls and can be installed quickly by rolling over flat surfaces or fixing vertically with mechanical fasteners. Overlaps should be maintained according to specification to ensure continuous drainage and geotextile filtration.
