Our premium Sedum Matting, also known as Sedum Blankets, offers a quick, low-maintenance solution for creating beautiful, instant green roofs. Supplied rolled and palletised for convenience, each mat is pre-grown with a robust mixture of drought-tolerant sedum species, rooted into a strong yet lightweight growing medium and biodegradable carrier.
Designed for easy installation on flat or gently sloped roofs, Sedum Matting is ideal for everything from a small garden shed or garage roof to large-scale green roof applications on offices, commercial buildings, warehouses, or local authority developments. Whether you're a green roof installer, contractor, landscape architect, builder, or council project manager, this system is an ideal choice for instantly greening urban environments.
The blanket has a typical depth of 30mm but can grow up to 80mm during the growing season when well maintained. This living mat provides excellent biodiversity benefits, supports rainwater attenuation, and contributes to improved building insulation and urban cooling.
Each pallet contains approximately 35–40m² of coverage, making it easy to plan both small and large-scale green roofing schemes. The system is sold per square metre and is available in two convenient pre-cut roll sizes for ease of handling and installation.

Please note: Plant performance may vary with site conditions. Maintenance will improve longevity and growth. All Sedum Matting orders are delivered on pallets via heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). To ensure a successful and stress-free delivery, please read the following carefully:
Pallet Delivery
Your sedum matting will be delivered on pallets, rolled and stacked for protection during transit. Delivery is made by HGV and is kerbside only.
Access Requirements
It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the delivery location is suitable for an HGV. This includes:
A flat, level, and hard-standing surface suitable for pallet offloading
Sufficient turning space for a large vehicle near the delivery point
Clear access without obstructions or weight restrictions
Domestic Deliveries
For residential addresses, a tail-lift vehicle will be used where possible. However, tail-lift offloading cannot be guaranteed for all locations. In some cases, manual unloading (“handballing”) or use of on-site machinery (e.g., forklift) may be required.
Handling & Care Instructions
Sedum matting is a living product and requires prompt handling to maintain quality:
Install Immediately: Sedum matting should be laid as soon as possible upon delivery. Delays may impact plant health.
Do Not Stack or Leave Rolled: If not installing right away, unroll the mats in a shaded, flat area with good airflow to prevent overheating or stress to the plants.
Water Lightly: If storage exceeds 24 hours before installation, mist the mats lightly with water—do not soak. Avoid leaving mats in direct sunlight while still rolled.
Avoid Overhandling: Lift mats carefully from underneath to avoid damage to the sedum plants and root mat. Use two people for longer or heavier rolls.
Important Notes
Sedum is delicate in extreme heat—deliveries during warm periods should be installed without delay.
If there are any specific delivery concerns or access restrictions, please contact Green-tech prior to ordering. We’re happy to help ensure your site is ready for a smooth delivery.
Tip: Just like turf, the sooner you lay your sedum matting, the better it will perform and establish in your landscape.
